Creative Art Therapy and Sandplay Therapy
The counseling approach I offer includes the optional use of the Creative Arts to help clients gain a much needed perspective and assists them in their healing. When words fail to convey the depth of feeling experienced by the client, the expressive arts provide another "language" for the client to use, requiring no previous art making experience. Some of the media used include paint, college, clay, mask-making, and creative writing to help clients express, understand, and transform their feelings into allies on their path to healing.
The focus of my work is with children and adults dealing with emotional and life threatening challenges, relationship issues, emotional, cognitive, or physical challenges, including families in crisis. I utilize SandPlay Therapy and Creative Arts Therapy with both children and adults. Other issues include trauma, death, dying, autism spectrum.
Issues I can help with?
Making meaning in times of change, uncertainty, separation, divorce, retirement, serious medical diagnosis, depression, relocation, crisis, and for families with children with special needs. I welcome the opportunity to work creatively with people of all ages, races, cultures, and diverse orientations interested in their own growth and healing.
